Garden by the Sea: An Original Song
The lyrics to Garden by the Sea most accurately reflect my real life. I wrote this song literally in less than an hour. It’s a folk tune that tells the story of my beloved cat, Bonnie, who died when I was away in Venice, Italy. When I was back home I was sitting on the pink couch where I used to sit with Bonnie and out came this tune. Here’s to you, Bonnie! I would also like to thank Chris Bihuniak of Rock Band Academy Studios for producing this song.

“Stone angels looking down.”
This was the view from our Airbnb in Venice.
Garden by the Sea
By Grace Piper Fields
Sausage, eggs, and bacon
Sunny morning, pretty sky
My cat lounging on the pink couch
And never leaves my side
I like how the sun comes through the window
And makes patterns on the floor
I wish this could last forever more
You left me when I was in Venice
In a garden by the sea
I had a silent moment for you and me
Roads made out of water
Stone angels looking down
Tears in my reflection
And water-colored clouds
I like how the sun comes through the window
And makes patterns on the floor
I wish this could last forever more
You left me when I was in Venice
In a garden by the sea
I had a silent moment for you and me
A candle burns for you
Inside the basilica
Ding dong ding dong
My stained glass heart is blue
A heart that breaks is true
Sausage, eggs, and bacon
Sunny morning, pretty sky
My cat lounging on the pink couch
And never leaves my side
