Romanticizing Fall š
As the 'ber months (September through December) come to a close, I find myself reflecting on how we romanticize fallāand honestly, I love every bit of it. After a visit to the beautiful Cheekwood Estate & Gardens in Nashville, I can confidently say thereās no such thing as too many pumpkins. This season, I also released Old Record Love, a song I wrote a few years ago and have loved performing live. After requests to make it available, this cozy, fireside tune is finally streaming. Below, youāll find snapshots of autumn in Nashville and the lyrics to Old Record Love.

Old Record Love
By Grace Piper Fields
VERSE 1
I know you loved me
like an old record
Cherished me
like your favorite sweater
Wrote on me
like your journal full of poems
VERSE 2
But then you left me
broken, scratched, and shattered
with holes and tears
tears and tatters
Put me on
a dusty shelf all alone
PRE-CHORUS 1
You might not be my meant to be
but someday soon I guarantee
CHORUS 1
Iāll find my old record love
Scratches on my vinyl heart and all
Iāll find my old record love
Slow dancing in the kitchen by next fall
No use on dwelling when we had it all
Old record love
VERSE 3
But I still hear our
favorite song playing
Harvest moon
and the leaves are changing
Poetry
stained by your empty words
PRE-CHORUS 1
I donāt know what the stars foresee
but someday soon I guarantee
CHORUS 2
Iāll find my old record love
Scratches on my vinyl heart and all
Iāll find my old record love
Slow dancing in the kitchen by next fall
No use on dwelling when we had it all
Old record love
BRIDGE
Itās golden hour October
Youāre just a whisper in the wind
Two mugs are on my table
New sunlight streaming in
CHORUS 3
I found my old record love
Scratches on my vinyl heart and all
I found my old record love
Slow dancing in the kitchen as I fall
in old record love
