A Cappella Adventures
When I mention that I am in a collegiate a cappella group, many people say, “Is it just like Pitch Perfect?” I can’t deny there are some similarities! But, jokes aside, being a member of Intonations, an all-female a cappella group from Belmont University, has been one of the most inspiring and fulfilling parts of my college journey. From day one, I’ve been surrounded by an incredible group of women who are not only talented vocalists but also passionate and driven individuals. It’s been a privilege to perform with such a supportive community and bond over our collective passion: creating music. This year, I have the honor of serving as President of Intonations. Our fall semester was packed with memorable moments, starting with a retreat and photo shoot that set the tone for a fantastic year. One of the major highlights was hosting our Fall A Cappella Concert at Nashville’s historic venue, 3rd and Lindsley. Showcasing our new members and watching our aca-sisters and brothers (our fellow Belmont groups) perform, was unforgettable. Now, as we prepare for the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) Quarter Finals, the excitement is building. We're fine-tuning our set and pushing ourselves to new heights. Being a part of Intonations has taught me so much about collaboration, leadership, and the power of community. It’s thrilling to see how far we’ve come, and I can’t wait to see what next semester holds!
