Colorful Cinque Terre!
Riomaggiore & Vernazza, Cinque Terre
Part 1
The amazing thing about Italy is that wherever you go is a surprise. Even though it is the same country, each place is so different. You just never know what to expect! After a few short hours, we traveled form Florence to Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is five small, coastal villages located in the region of Linguria. The town of Riomaggiore reminded me of Valparaiso, Chile with it's colorful buildings and hilly streets. But don't just take my word for it, see for yourself down below!
After exploring Riomaggiore, we tried to take a train to Manerola, but ended up in Vernaza! The Italian train system is very confusing... Vernazza turned out to be beautiful, and I was glad that we accidentally arrived there!
We actually ended up taking a speed train back to La Spezia and therefore got lost again! After much confusion, we ended up just taking a taxi back to Riomaggiore. On the ride back we saw a magnificent sunset of pastel pink, orange, yellow, and blue. I guess something good can come out of an Italian disaster! Plus, a fresh seafood pasta can cheer anyone up!
