Keeping a Diary

Keeping a diary is something I have done on and off throughout my life. I received my first diary on my 7th birthday and always kept the keys hidden. When I look through old photos it brings back so many memories. I think the same thing is true for diaries or journals. I recently read through my oldest diaries, and remembered things that I hadn't thought about in a long time. I mostly wrote about my favorite toys, days that were fun, and people I admired. I have kept all sorts of journals, such as trip, show, and personal journals. When I was eight (and a half), I thought I should write a Guide to Everything… That was pretty funny to read! I'm sure I am going to find my middle school writing pretty funny in the future as well. Even so, I am compelled to keep writing. My most recent journal was given to me by a friend for my birthday. I decided  that I was going to write only positive things or views in it. If something negative happens, I write about it from an optimistic viewpoint. When I look back on memories, I like to remember the happy things. I decided to start blogging as another creative outlet for writing and because I love photography and photo shoots. Summer seemed like a good time to dig into the technical aspects of blogging. Luckily my sister, Allie, has been able to help me when I have questions. Allie is a designer for Hallmark Cards and has a beautiful design blog called "Letters are Lovely." She also hand lettered my name which appears as my blog logo. Right now blogging is just for fun, but I think blogging and social media are fascinating as ways to do marketing. Currently, it doesn't matter to me how many people read my blog, but if you are reading along, feel free to leave comments and feedback.
