Valparaiso, Chile

Valparaiso, Chile, is bursting with color! The buildings, graffiti art, and painted staircases all give character to this city. There are shops at every corner. My sister purchased a beautiful piece from a local artist of the astonishing landscape. The city is nestled on a hillside, and some of the streets are very steep! One of my favorite shops, called La Dulceria, was on a hill near our hotel. It had delicious handmade candies! Sometimes designs were on the inside, and they all had unique flavors. Of all the places we visited in Chile, this city might be my favorite.

In Valparaiso, we stayed at a boutique hotel called Casa Higueras. There was a beautiful view of the port and city out the windows, and from the rooftop deck. At night, an ombre sunset would make the view priceless. There was even a hot tub and infinity pool! Since Valparaiso is so close to the port, the seafood is superb. I enjoyed the shrimp and crab the most.
