3 Ways to Embrace Winter in February ❄️
The holidays are over, but here in Kansas, the winter weather persists. Whenever I’m asked the common roll call questions: The beach or the mountains? Summer or winter? I’ve always gone for hot over cold. Not to mention with the spread of Omicron and the recent snow, many people who are sick and/or cooped up inside are struggling to keep entertained. Instead of letting the cold weather get you down, here are 3 ways to embrace the rest of winter!
1 ~ Make Embellished Earmuffs
Earmuffs are the perfect accessories that make all winter outfits more festive! I purchased a few different colors of earmuffs off of Amazon (click here) and embellished them with ribbon, yarn, fabrics, gems, or anything I could find around my house. I started by making the headband part thicker by wrapping it with trim and each design went from there! These earmuffs also make great one-of-a-kind gifts for your family and friends. Whether you are going ice skating, walking around town, or on a winter hike, these unique earmuffs are sure to make a statement.
2 ~ Invent Your Own Winter Signature Drink
Cozying up by the fire with a warm drink is one of my favorite things to do in the winter. I decided to create my own tea called The Rosalie by mixing blood orange tea, rose lemonade, and honey (all from Trader Joe’s). Then, I topped it off with some raspberries. This was a super fun activity and I encourage you to invent your own signature drink as well!
3 ~ Create a Fireside Playlist
Music can completely change your mood, so I created a playlist for relaxing while watching the falling snow. It was very therapeutic to make and listen to. I love how Spotify suggests songs based off of the ones you pick out because I always find new music that way.
