Tangled Web: An Original Song
Tangled Web embodies how simple things can reveal more complex situations. The people we meet leave traces that intertwine into a tangled web that makes up our life and story. The lessons we learn from other people shape us and our future. In some ways on the outside this seems like a simple song, but it has a lot of layers. I hope when you listen you can relate with your own situations. With the mixture of major and minor chords, Tangled Web will leave you questioning, what did you mean? If you can embrace the world with its ups and downs, you can then choose to see the beauty in it all. This prevents us from becoming bitter or hardened by life’s situations. Not ignoring it, but rather seeing the imperfection and saying I’m going to make the most of this. This concept is something I had on my mind while writing this song. I would also like to thank my producer, Chris Bihuniak of Rock Band Academy Studios for all he has taught me over the years. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.

Tangled Web
By Grace Piper Fields
You left your raincoat on the porch
and your flowers in the car
I asked you what you meant by that
You said, I don’t live far
Oh you
You left your raincoat on the porch
You
I built the castles in the sand
and that shirt you never wore
I didn’t ask you what you meant by that
but I knew there was so much more
Oh you
You never wore that shirt
You too
And then I realize
that I
live in a Tangled Web
with pieces of my head
We ran to the bakery in the rain
and snuck into the dance
You said, this might be a long shot
but just give me a chance
Oh you too
Left your raincoat
Castles, castles
You too
To the dance
You don’t live far
You too
You never wore that shirt
You too
Long shot, long shot
What did you mean?
