Nashville On My Mind ðŸ’
I have Nashville on my mind in light of the devastating tornadoes that recently swept through the city. Last spring I visited Nashville for the first time and it captured my heart. I was instantly drawn to this place whose culture revolves around music. From live music coming from virtually every doorway on Broadway, to hearing singer/songwriters perform their own music at The Listening Room, you can hear just about any genre of music throughout the town. My visit to Nashville coincided with with a songwriting competition that I was involved in. My song, Don’t Walk Away, had advanced to the finalist category in the Seven Days songwriting contest, and I had a few weeks to put together a music video to go with the song. A few scenes were filmed in Kansas City, but most of the video was filmed in Nashville. The many colorful murals in Music City provided the perfect backdrop for this project, and I was pleased when my video won second place in this important contest which promotes acceptance of all people regardless of racial, religious, or cultural differences. Regardless of what brings you to Nashville, whether it’s the music, food scene, or just fun vibe, this city is vibrant and full of color. We filled our days with bowling at Pinewood Social, checking out the donuts, and finding all the Insta worthy murals. This spring, my heart is in Nashville as it recovers from the recent tragic storms.
