Vibrant Venice

Venice, Italy

I had seen pictures of Venice before, so I thought I knew what to expect. I was not prepared for the feeling of seeing this grand and unbelievably unique city for the first time! We entered the city on a beautiful, wooden boat that served as a water taxi which took us down the Grand Canal. I was completely blown away by this old city that appears to be merging with the ocean! We spent several days exploring Venice by foot and by gondola. Some notable places we saw were St. Mark’s Basilica, the Rialto Bridge, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, and the Jewish Ghetto. It was while I was in Venice that I found out that my beloved kitty, Bonnie, had died. My original song, Garden by the Sea, has a lot of Venice imagery and is about experiencing this loss. It is hard to capture the essence of Venice in pictures, so if you get the chance to visit Italy, I recommend putting Venice on the itinerary! To watch my adventures in Venice click (here.)
