The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Beeš
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious musical where contestants (including a few audience members) compete in a "spelling bee." This show, put on by Stage Right Performing Arts, was one of the most fun productions I have ever been a part of. The director, Zach Faust, was amazing to work with, and I was constantly blown away by the talent of my fellow cast members. My character, Marcy Park, is a serious Catholic girl who strives to be perfect at everything she does, but is unemotional. The biggest challenge for me in this role was to keep a straight face because there are so many hilarious lines and funny characters in this show. I really enjoyed playing Marcy because her main solo, I Speak Six Languages, gave me the opportunity to do some fun dance moves and sing at the same time. This show was put together with very few rehearsals. I was very proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. I would like to thank Brooke Montgomery for the photos used in this post. Above is a video of I Speak Side Languages.
